Add time zone to Patient Engagement calendar for students that are scheduling while they are traveling

What's New? We've introduced time zone displays to the Patient Engagement calendar for an improved user experience, particularly for traveling patients often utilizing telehealth services. This ensures you're scheduling appointments based on the time zone of your institution, making things a lot clearer and simpler.

Where Can You Find This? You can find this newly added feature in two places:

  1. In the top header of the Sunwave platform, right below your username and role, you'll now see your institution's time zone (for example, Time Zone: EST).

  2. In the Patient Engagement section, when you send a calendar request to a patient. The patient will see the institution's time zone in the email/text invitation.

Here's how you can locate it:

  • After logging in, look for your name in the top header. Beneath your role, you'll see the time zone display.

  • In the Patient Engagement section, when you're about to send a Calendar Request to a patient, you'll find the time zone display.

Why is this Important? This update minimizes the risk of scheduling errors due to time zone confusion, especially for traveling patients. It ensures appointments are scheduled accurately, reducing no-shows and increasing the overall efficiency. More accurate scheduling also means higher billing potential, as more appointments can be honored and charged for.

Who Does This Help? This feature is a great help to patients who frequently travel across different time zone. It also assists the institutions and their staff in reducing missed appointments and improving the overall scheduling process.

Anything Special to Know? The displayed time zone is based on the location of your institution, not your current geographical location. This means, if you're a student scheduling an appointment from a different time zone, the calendar will show the time zone of your institution, ensuring clarity and precision when setting up your appointments.
