RCM Enhancements

Extend Authorization Dates and Improved Authorization Reporting

What’s New: We have added an "Extension" option in the dropdown for changing the 'Authorized Until Date' in the Patient Chart. When this option is selected, the system will log the original 'Authorized Until Date', consistent with other change reasons except 'Error Correction'. Additionally, the Unutilized Authorizations Report in the Billing section now includes a 'Comments Field' column next to the 'Reason' column, displaying corresponding comments for each authorization.

Why It Matters: This enhancement improves the efficiency and tracking of authorization changes and provides better data for managing insurance authorizations, enabling more effective decision-making and management.

Who It’s For: This update is for Utilization Review (UR) Teams, Admissions Reps, and any other team members handling authorizations.

How to Use It: To use the new feature, navigate to Patient Chart > Insurance > Insurance Authorizations, and when modifying the Auth Until date, select "Extension" in the dropdown.

EMR Enhancements

EMR Signature Approval Roles - Indicate Disabled Roles in User Management

What’s New: Sunwave now visually indicates and blocks selection of approval roles that have been disabled.

Why It Matters: This enhancement ensures that users are only assigned active roles and streamlines form approval role selection for organizations who have grown and had their needs change over time.

Who It’s For: This update is for Sunwave Admins and Sunwave staff who manage approval roles.

How to Use It: Users can navigate through Practice Set-Up → Form Approval roles to locate the form approval role management screen.

Open an existing Form Approval Role and modify the status to “Inactive”

When assigning approval roles in the user profile, a visual indicator will be provided to show Inactive roles

Med Census - Remember User Customized View

What’s New: Med Census has been enhanced to remember the filter configuration the user sets and displays upon returning to the page.

Why It Matters: Remembering the Med Census view allows Nurses and Techs to move through administering or observing medications faster and more accurately. Utilizing the filters at the top of the screen, nurses can generate the exact list of patients they are handling meds for.

Who It’s For: This update is for Nurses, techs and anyone involved in med pass or observing/administering medications.

How to Use It: Users can navigate to the Med Census screen using the left hand nav menu. Use any of the filters at the top of the screen and than navigate into a patient MOR/MAR. Upon return, your last view will be remembered and displayed to you!

Treatment Plans - Implement Frequency/Duration Field for Custom Objectives and Interventions

What’s New: Custom Treatment Plans now have dedicated fields to record Frequency/Duration.

Why It Matters: Providing standard fields to record Frequency/Duration associated to custom treatment plan objectives allows clinicians to more easily track how often and when a client should be making progress.

Who It’s For: This update is for clinicians, clinical directors, auditors and clinical interns who craft treatment plans for their patients.

How to Use It: No action is required to utilize this enhancement. The field will appear when adding objectives and interventions to custom treatment plans.
