SUNWAVE (General) Enhancements

Add New Permission for Collections Warning Feature

What’s New: We have introduced a new permission called "Manage Collections Warning" under Practice Setup > Users under Billing to support the recently implemented Collections Warning feature. This permission allows designated users to manage the Collections Warning settings, ensuring better control and security over this feature.

Why It Matters: Adding this new permission provides a granular level of control, so it doesn’t need to be an Admin to manage the Collections Warning settings.

Who It’s For: This feature is designed for administrators and billing managers who need to manage Collections Warning settings.

How to Use It:

  • Navigate to Practice Setup > Users and look in the Billing section.

  • Assign the "Manage Collections Warning" permission to designated users.

 


Deleted Forms & Queues - Auto-Complete & Comment Tasks associated to Deleted Forms

What’s New: Tasks that are associated to forms that are deleted will now be auto-completed and have a comment inserted indicating the user and datetime the deletion occurred at.

Why It Matters: This update ensures no tasks associated to deleted forms remain incomplete or open, allowing clients to utilize task reporting more accurately.

Who It’s For: This feature is designed for administrators and auditors who review deleted forms and want to track tasks associated to them

How to Use It: No action is required by the end user to utilize this, navigate to the Wave Queues report to examine tasks associated to deleted forms.

RCM Enhancements

Consolidated Claim Formatting for UB04 and CMS1500 Services

What’s New: We have implemented a new feature to format UB04 and CMS1500 claims with single claim lines for services spanning multiple dates. This enhancement includes a flag in the Service Business Rules named "Consolidated Inpatient Service Line" for UB04 and "Consolidated Service Period Line" for CMS1500. The claim generation logic has been updated to reflect these changes, ensuring compliance with certain insurance billing guidelines and expediting payment processing.

Why It Matters: This update allows billers to adhere to specific insurance company guidelines by consolidating multiple service dates into a single claim line. This streamlined approach facilitates quicker payment processing and reduces the complexity of handling multi-date services in claims.

Who It’s For: This feature is designed for billers who handle UB04 and CMS1500 claims, especially those working with Ambetter and AZ Medicaid.

How to Use It: To use this feature, navigate to the Service Business Rules and select the new flags for "Consolidated Inpatient Service Line" for UB04 or "Consolidated Service Period Line" for CMS1500. When generating claims:

  • For UB04, it will include one claim line for multiple days of inpatient service, displaying the earliest date of service in Box 45, and the total number of service days in Box 46.

  • For CMS1500, it will include one claim line for multiple days of service, display the earliest and last date of service in Box 24A, and the total number of service days in Box 24G.

Claims will maintain this format in the Sunwave system, in PDFs, and when printed or sent to Waystar/Office Ally. In the reporting module, each service date will still be reported separately with unique claim IDs, ensuring detailed tracking.

Additional Features:

  • Tooltips have been added to explain the new Service Business Rules flags.

  • Manual claim editing now allows adding additional dates, automatically updating units and service dates.

  • Unit editing is disabled on these consolidated claims to ensure billing accuracy.


Addition of "Labels" Field to Adhoc Report

What's New: We've added the "Labels" field to the Adhoc Report.

Why It Matters: This enhancement allows billers and collectors to include label statuses directly in their reports, making it easier to track and manage various statuses across records.

Who It's For: Billers and collectors who rely on labels for managing statuses within their workflows.

How to Use It:

  • The "Labels" field can now be selected the Adhoc Report.

  • Multiple labels for a single record will be displayed and separated by a comma.

  • When exporting the Adhoc Report to CSV, labels will also be separated by a comma in the export file.


EMR Enhancements

Patient Q’s - Display User who ends Patient Q

What’s New: Patient Q history now displays the user who removes patients from Q’s.

Why It Matters: This update surfaces the user responsible for removing a patient from Q checks.

Who It’s For: This feature is for nurses, techs and administrators who need to verify when a patient is removed from a Q check.

How to Use It: While on a patient facesheet, press the history widget next to patient Q’s.

Compliance & Caseload Trackers - Adjust Order of Forms

What’s New: The Sunwave Compliance and Caseload trackers have been enhanced to allow users to re-order the forms being tracked.

Why It Matters: This update allows the compliance and caseload trackers to be easily adjusted if the forms being tracked change and permit the order of the forms to be more reflective of the underlying workflow.

Who It’s For: This feature is for anyone who performs or audits documentation in Sunwave through the Compliance or Caseload tracker.

How to Use It: Navigate through Case Load to either Case Load Tracker or Compliance Report. Locate the “Configure” button at the top of the screen (requires Admin). Click Configure and drag each row into the desired order.
