Who It’s For: All Sunwave users with telehealth services who have or plan to use a Zoom account.
How to Use It: Follow our step-by-step guide to set up and activate Zoom in Sunwave. Once activated, you can create, edit, and manage telehealth sessions directly from the Sunwave calendar.
RCM Enhancement
Enable Taxonomy Code Configuration for Billing Facility Alias
What’s New: Billing Facility Aliases can now be configured with unique Taxonomy Codes, allowing facilities with the same EIN/NPI but different taxonomy codes to be treated as one billing facility. This ensures accurate ERA mapping and smoother payment posting.
Why It Matters: This enhancement resolves issues with ERA mapping and reduces manual posting efforts. By accounting for taxonomy code differences, billing teams can achieve greater efficiency and accuracy in payment processing.
Who It’s For: Ideal for billing teams handling facilities with shared NPIs and EINs but varied taxonomy codes, where precise and automated payment posting is critical.
How to Use It:
Go to Billing Facility Alias settings in your configuration.
Assign the appropriate Taxonomy Code to each alias.
Alumni Enhancements
Display Service Facility Nicknames in the Patients to Enroll Report
What’s New: The Patients to Enroll report now displays the Service Facility Nickname in the Admit and Discharge columns instead of the full Service Facility Name. This change helps users easily distinguish between facilities with similar or identical names.
Why It Matters: For users managing multiple facilities with the same name, this update eliminates confusion by presenting the unique Nickname for each Service Facility. It ensures users are always working with the correct facility when reviewing admissions and discharges.
Who It’s For: This feature is especially beneficial for Alumni users who manage or oversee multiple Service Facilities and rely on accurate facility identification in their reports.
How to Use It:
Navigate to the Patients to Enroll report.
In the Admit and Discharge columns, you will now see the Service Facility Nickname displayed instead of the full Service Facility Name.
CRM Enhancements
CRM - Restrict Opportunity & Account Access
What’s New: Sunwave now supports restricting access to CRM Opportunities and Accounts. Restricted Opportunities and Accounts will not be shown in either Manage Opportunities or Manage Accounts for the restricted users.
Why It Matters: This update enhances Sunwave’s ability to ensure users are not allowed to view opportunities or accounts that they are not permitted to view.
Who It’s For: This feature is designed for compliance, management and leadership who want to restrict staff from seeing opportunities they are not permitted to see.
How to Use It:
Opportunities may be restricted from the Menu in the top right corner of the Edit Opportunity view
Flagging an account as Restricted will open a dialogue box to confirm your selection. This box also supports allowing specific access to the restricted records.
Users access rights can be managed from Practice Setup → Manage Users → Select a User
Calendar Enhancements
CAL - Store Credit Card Info for Calendar Charges
What’s New: Sunwave now permits stored credit cards to be utilized from the calendar.
Why It Matters: This update allows the collection of collect of copays and other payments from the calendar.
Who It’s For: This update allows office managers, therapists, receptionists or others who use the calendar to check in or process patients to more effectively charge for services from the calendar.
How to Use It: Ensure the patient has a a credit card stored in their record by navigating through Menu → Store Credit Card.
Utilize the + button to add a credit card
After recording the credit card information, navigate to the Calendar. Create or select an appointment with a patient. Press the $ to open the payment mini-menu.
Review any copayment and use the Take Payment button to select Credit Card.
After confirming the payment amount click Take Payment and press Load Card
Finish by pressing Process Payment
