RCM Enhancements

Enhanced Secondary and Tertiary Insurance Placement on UB04

What’s New: The UB04 form now correctly places Primary, Secondary, and Tertiary insurance details in their designated rows to ensure claims are submitted accurately:

  • Primary insurance appears in Row A.

  • Secondary insurance appears in Row B.

  • Tertiary insurance appears in Row C.

Previously, adding Secondary or Tertiary insurance caused the payer order to shift incorrectly—moving Primary insurance down to Row B and placing Secondary in Row A. This update ensures Primary stays in Row A, with Secondary and Tertiary correctly following.

Why It Matters: Proper placement of insurance details prevents claim denials and rejections due to incorrect payer order. This update aligns the UB04 format with payer expectations, reducing billing errors and improving claim acceptance rates.

Who It’s For: Billers and finance teams submitting claims using the UB04 form.

How to Use It: No action is needed. When submitting claims to Secondary or Tertiary insurance, you will now notice that Primary insurance remains in Row A, Secondary in Row B, and Tertiary in Row C—without shifting.

Check the desired documentation options ON and configure the scoring criteria appropriately. Sunwave will alert the user if a score falls OUTSIDE the configured range.

In the above screen shot

  • a CIWA score below 15 and above 99 would alert the user.

  • a Systolic BP reading below 120 or above 129 would alert the user.

  • a Diastolic BP reading below 80 or above 100 would alert the user

image-20250321-191810.png

Configuration similar to the above screenshot will only alert the user if Systolic BP is below 90 or Diastolic is below 60.

Order medications as normal.

Navigate to the MOR/MAR after ordering and review the new buttons to determine which medications will require assessment prior to action.

image-20250321-193247.png

Sunwave supports a one to many relationship between assessments and medications i.e. → A single CIWA form or Vitals reading may be used for documentation on more than one medication, eliminating the need to double document.

In the above screenshot, Vitals are required for both the Amlodipine and Ativan, however only 1 vitals assessment will be performed.

Select the medications to be actioned and press the “Administer Selected” button as normal. If a medication is selected and that medication requires an assessment prior to action, Sunwave will display the assessment after “Administer Selected” is pressed.

If more than 1 assessment is required, Sunwave will display automatically after the first is completed

image-20250321-193953.png

image-20250321-194127.png

image-20250321-195615.png

The MOR/MAR will provide feedback via coloring and mouse-over text for any assessments performed

image-20250321-200149.png

The red background indicates the assessment contains a score that is too high or too low. Mousing over the bubble will unfurl detailed text. Click to view the assessment itself
