Two Factor Authentication (2FA)

 

Enabling two-factor authentication adds an extra layer of protection to your account. You may need to contact your IT Department if you are unable to setup 2-Step Verification.

Instructions and Walkthrough

Google Authenticator

Link to Download Google Authenticator App via your smartphone or tablet:

(You will need to download the Google Authenticator App prior to enabling 2FA in order to receive your verification code if you cannot scan the QR code provided.)

Enabling Two Factor Authentication (User Initiated)

  • Select “half person” on the top-right next to your Company Logo. Once selected, you will go to your User Profile.

  • Click User Profile

     

  • Verify your password and select “Activate 2-Factor Authentication” and select Update

     

Enabling Two Factor Authentication (Mandatory Enforcement)

Follow the series of prompts to Start 2FA Setup

  • Select Start 2FA Setup

  • Once you have Downloaded the Google Authenticator App, select Next

  • Setup Authenticator has two options for enabling 2FA: QR Code or Setup Key

 

 

Setup via QR Code

  • Select Next

  • Open the Google Authenticator App via your Mobile Device

  • Select the + sign at the bottom right of the Google Authenticator App

  • Select the Scan a QR Code

 

Setup Via Setup Key

  • Select Next if you want to enable 2FA via Setup Key (highlight over key code and select “copy.”)

  • Open the Google Authenticator App via your Mobile Device

  • Select the + sign at the bottom right of the Google Authenticator App

     

  • Select Enter a Setup Key

  • Enter the Key Code (“paste” code into Code:) and select Verify

Alternative Authentication Methods

App Based Authenticators

Other app-based authenticators such as Microsoft Authenticator, Salesforce Authenticator, and Authy may also work to authenticate your log in to Sunwave. Please see your IT department and the alternative authenticator provider’s documentation to complete setup of those authentication methods.

Hard Token Authentication

If a user decides not to use a mobile device/app based authentication method, they will need to obtain a hard-token device. Please contact your IT department to discuss hard token authentication and obtain a device.
