Ad-hoc reporting and data extraction
This article is meant to showcase the ad-hoc reporting capability within the Billing capabilities in Sunwave. This data can then be downloaded and consumed by external tools or used to build analytic reports in Excel, Google sheets, or other spreadsheet applications
Instructions
You must have access to billing within Sunwave. You must ask your Sunwave administrator for this access to view the ad-hoc billing screens
Navigate to Billling → Adhoc reports
Drag and drop the Dimensions and Measures you wish to export. It is best for an export to pull all dimensions into the “Rows” section of the report. Note that you can use the “Search fields” box to quickly find the field you want. Also, be sure to choose the date range that you wish to query. You may also save this report for re-use at a later time.
After you have verified all the data you need, you may use the “Download CSV” button to download to your desktop.
Whenever you return to Adhoc reporting, you can re-use your report by clicking the “Open” button
Upon extraction of data you can then import into Excel, upload to google sheets, or import into your favorite Business Intelligence, reporting, or charting tool. The following screenshots are of some simple metrics, charting, and pivot tables that can be accomplished in google sheets.
