Unallocated Refunds

When creating a patients refund, for your reporting purposes, you can choose to Allocate the $$$ or keep it Unallocated, below is a step by step regarding Unallocated refunds:

Under the Billing Tab, open Managed EOBs,

  1. Using the Filter you can search the patients name that needs the refund, you see this has not been allocated to any service.

  2. Using the +NEW REMIT tab, select the down arrow to open the options, and select Check From Patient

  3. A box will populate based off the selection, and here you select the Patient, then enter the amount of the refund using a negative sign in front -XXX.XX of the money, fill in the payment date 00/00/0000, Other Refence #: ( Example of the Refund for the client), then click the blue tab Next: Save & Start to Allocate

  4. Now that the payment has been added, you can add any additional comments in the refence #., and /or comments, this is all reportable.

  5. Once entered, as there is no service to apply towards, scroll down to the bottom and select OK. This is now visible in the patient’s chart to see this Refund to the Unallocated payment

When reviewing in the patient chart, and viewing the Patients Payments, it will still show the payment, but if you click on the REMIT ID it will pull up the details of the refund.
