SUNWAVE (General) Enhancements

Easier Permission Management with New Role-Based Permissions Template

What’s New: We have added a new "Permissions" tab in the Role setup within Practice Setup. This allows administrators to configure and apply permissions at the role level instead of setting them user by user.

Why It Matters: This update makes it easier and quicker to manage user permissions. By setting up default permissions for each role, admins can ensure consistency and save time, reducing manual work and errors.

Who It’s For: This feature is designed for administrators who manage user roles and permissions.

How to Use It:

  • New Permissions Tab:

    • Go to Practice Setup > Role editing interface.

    • You will see a new tab called "Permissions."

    • Configure the default permissions for each role here. Notice the +/- buttons so you can expand or collapse by sections.

  • Applying Permissions:

    • When you add or edit a user and assign a role, you’ll see a prompt: "This role has default permissions associated. Would you like to apply these permissions?"

      image-20240725-194158.png
    • Confirm to apply the role’s default permissions, or customize further if needed.

  • Multiple Roles:

    • If a user has multiple roles, the system will handle the permissions accordingly, allowing new role permissions to override existing ones if applicable.

  • Admin Control:

    • Only Admins can configure these settings.

Introducing the Device Management Interface for Enhanced Device Authentication

What's New: This feature is designed for customers utilizing the Device Authentication feature. It provides designated users with a dedicated interface to view and manage authenticated devices within their company.

Why It Matters: The Device Management Interface allows users to efficiently oversee all devices connected to the system, edit device names and descriptions, track approval history, remove device access, and export data for further analysis. With these tools, you can maintain full control over the devices authorized to access Sunwave, reducing the risk of unauthorized access.

Who It's For: This feature is available to users with "Admin" status or those granted the specific permission "Authorized to authenticate devices/computers."

How to Use It:

  1. Navigate to Device Management:
Go to Practice Setup > Device Management.

  2. View Devices:
The "Device Authentication Table" lists all approved devices.

  3. Edit Device Information:
You can directly update the "Device Name" and "Device Description" fields within the table to provide additional context or details about each device.

  4. Remove Devices:
Click the trash icon next to any device to remove its authorization. A confirmation dialog will appear, prompting you to validate the action before the device is removed.

  5. Export Data:
Use the "Export CSV" link to download the table's data for offline analysis or reporting.
