Sunwave (General) Enhancements
Easier Permission Management with New Role-Based Permissions Template
What’s New: We have added a new "Permissions" tab in the Role setup within Practice Setup. This allows administrators to configure and apply permissions at the role level instead of setting them user by user.
Why It Matters: This update makes it easier and quicker to manage user permissions. By setting up default permissions for each role, admins can ensure consistency and save time, reducing manual work and errors.
Who It’s For: This feature is designed for administrators who manage user roles and permissions.
How to Use It:
New Permissions Tab:
Go to Practice Setup > Role editing interface.
You will see a new tab called "Permissions."
Configure the default permissions for each role here. Notice the +/- buttons so you can expand or collapse by sections.
Applying Permissions:
When you add or edit a user and assign a role, you’ll see a prompt: "This role has default permissions associated. Would you like to apply these permissions?"
Confirm to apply the role’s default permissions, or customize further if needed.
Multiple Roles:
If a user has multiple roles, the system will handle the permissions accordingly, allowing new role permissions to override existing ones if applicable.
Admin Control:
Only Admins can configure these settings.
Enable Global Completion of Medication Administration Reminders
What’s New: We have added a feature that allows users to quickly and globally mark medication administration reminders as completed, saving time and eliminating the need to handle them individually.
Why It Matters: This update streamlines the process of managing medication administration reminders, making it more efficient for users to keep track of and complete their tasks. It reduces the administrative burden and ensures that reminders are consistently updated across all relevant queues.
Who It’s For: This feature is designed for EMR users who rely on reminders for medication administrations and want a faster, more efficient way to mark them as completed.
How to Use It:
Adding a Reminder: When administering a medication, add a reminder as you normally would.
Marking as Completed:
Navigate to the queue that contains the reminder.
Mark it as completed.
Global Update:
Once a reminder is marked as completed, it will be automatically removed from all relevant queues and Wave Reminders for all users.
If any user deletes the reminder from their Wave Reminders section, it will be removed globally across the system.
RCM Enhancements
Enhance Payments Reconciliation Report with Additional Fields
What’s New: We have enhanced the Payments Reconciliation Report by adding several new filter fields and report fields to provide better context and more detailed information. This update includes the following new fields: Card Transaction ID, Card Charged Date, Refunded ID, Refunded Date, and Last Updated Date (modified to "Payment Header Last Updated"). Additionally, we have renamed the Patient ID to MRI and changed the Payment Type field name to Payment Type Description.
Why It Matters: These enhancements enable users to filter the report based on various criteria, improving the efficiency and accuracy of payment reconciliations. The new fields provide additional context for understanding why items are included in the report.
Who It’s For: This feature is designed for all users of Sunwave’s financial module who need enhanced filtering and reporting capabilities in the Payments Reconciliation Report.
How to Use It: To use this feature, navigate to Financials > Reconcile Payments and utilize the new filter fields.
Add New Permission for Collections Warning Feature
What’s New: We have introduced a new permission called "Manage Collections Warning" under Practice Setup > Users under Billing to support the recently implemented Collections Warning feature. This permission allows designated users to manage the Collections Warning settings, ensuring better control and security over this feature.
Why It Matters: Adding this new permission provides a granular level of control, so it doesn’t need to be an Admin to manage the Collections Warning settings.
Who It’s For: This feature is designed for administrators and billing managers who need to manage Collections Warning settings.
How to Use It:
Navigate to Practice Setup > Users and look in the Billing section.
Assign the "Manage Collections Warning" permission to designated users.
Additionally, the "Manage Collections Warning" permission can be assigned under Practice Setup > Roles:
Choose a role.
Go to the Permissions tab and enable "Manage Collections Warning".
Only users with this permission or the Admin role can manage the Collections Warning feature.
Import User Feature:
The "Manage Collections Warning" permission can also be enabled via the Import User feature using the “Import from CSV” option (Phil's - Patient Import Template).
Related Fix:
We’ve also updated our CSV Import feature to ensure all permissions are now importable.
EMR Enhancements
Census Reporting - Report on Building, Room and Bed
What’s New: Sunwave now offers reportable options for Building, Room and Bed on the Master and Current Census reports.
Why It Matters: This enhancement consolidates occupancy information into Sunwave census reporting, further enhancing the reports as one-stop shops for information about the currently admitted patients.

How to Use It: No user action is required to utilize this enhancement. The Building, Room and Bed options will be presented to users with access to Master Census Report and Current Census Report via the left nav menu.
Medications Brought in By Patient - Add medications from top of list
What’s New: When recording the medications a client presents with, the new medication blank order form will appear at the top of the list.
Why It Matters: This enhancement allows medications to be recorded faster with less scrolling.
Who It’s For: This feature is for nurses, techs, and administrators who may need to record medication a client presents with.
How to Use It: No user action is required to utilize this enhancement. When adding new medications, the new order box will be displayed at the top of the list.
