CRM Enhancements
Create Opportunity Endpoints - Support Opportunity & Account Matching Based on Sunwave ID Field
What’s New
The POST /api/opportunity and POST /api/opportunity/active endpoints now support a new optional field: sunwave_account_id. This enables third-party systems to insert Opportunities linked to existing Sunwave Accounts without requiring an account_id. One must be provided in the POST.
Why It Matters
Clients who went live without a CRM created Opportunities and Accounts manually within Sunwave, often without a legacy/account ID. As they adopt external CRM systems, this enhancement prevents the creation of duplicate accounts by allowing those systems to match and post new Opportunities directly to existing Sunwave records via the Sunwave-generated Account ID.
Who’s It For
Implementation engineers, CRM integration partners, and enterprise clients using third-party systems to sync Opportunities into Sunwave.
How to Use It
Include
sunwave_account_idin your payload when posting to:POST /api/opportunityPOST /api/opportunity/active
Matching Behavior:
If
sunwave_account_idis provided and valid, the Opportunity is associated with the Account specified. If both
account_idandsunwave_account_idare provided,account_idtakes precedence. If no match is found for
sunwave_account_id, the API will return a 400 Bad Request

Referral Source Performance Report - Export Functionality
What’s New
A new “Export To CSV” button has been added to the Referral Performance Report, enabling users to generate and download the full dataset as a CSV file. The export is designed to support large data volumes (600+ pages) efficiently.
Why It Matters
Previously, the Referral Performance Report was paginated with no export capability, limiting the ability to perform in-depth analysis across facilities and regions. This enhancement empowers leaders to track trends, sort data, and generate insights without navigating page by page.
Who’s It For
Executives (e.g., VP of Business Development, Marketing, Strategy)
Business Intelligence & Reporting Teams
Operational Analysts tracking referral performance across regions
How to Use It
Navigate to the Referral Performance Report screen.
Click the “Export to CSV” button (top right of the screen).
Once ready, a banner will display: “Your CSV export is ready.”
Users can download the file from the Generated Files list in their profile dropdown or export history section.
Calendar Enhancements
Calendar Appointment Edit Modal - Support Open in New Tab
What’s New
Users can now right-click on the MRI# in any Calendar appointment modal and select “Open in New Tab”. This launches the patient chart in a new browser tab, preserving the original calendar session.
Why It Matters
Previously, clicking on the MRI or patient name redirected users away from the calendar view, disrupting scheduling workflows and requiring manual navigation to return. This update streamlines cross-referencing workflows, especially for users managing high volumes of appointments or patients.
Who’s It For
Intake Coordinators
Therapists & Clinicians
Front Desk and Administrative Staff
How to Use It
From the Calendar module, open any appointment modal.
Right-click the MRI# or Patient Name.
Click the option: “Open in New Tab”.
The patient chart will open in a new browser tab.
The Calendar view remains unchanged.

Dynamic and Master Census Reports: New Bubbles - Legal Status, Admit Source & Admit Type
What’s New
Three new data fields — Legal Status, Admit Source, and Admit Type — are now reportable within both the Dynamic Census Report and Master Census Report. These fields appear as filterable bubbles and display text values directly from the patient’s Face Sheet.
Why It Matters
This enhancement provides deeper visibility into the context of patient admissions, improving reporting for compliance, population health analytics, and operational oversight across programs and service lines.
Who’s It For
Compliance Officers
Program Directors
Clinical and Admissions Leaders
Data Analysts building custom census exports
How to Use It
Navigate to either the Dynamic Census Report or Master Census Report.
You’ll now see new filter bubbles for:
Legal Status
Admit Source
Admit Type
Legal Status, Admit Source and Admit Type are all form components that may be added to the facesheet.
Medication Orders - Display Approval Event Data
What’s New
The Medication Order Detail modals—accessed from both the Orders tab and the MOR/MAR tab—have been updated to display the provider approval signature and timestamp. This provides full visibility into when and by whom a medication order was formally approved.
Why It Matters
While medication orders may be entered by various users, only licensed providers with prescribing authority can formally approve those orders. This enhancement ensures compliance transparency, supports audit-readiness, and improves clarity for clinicians and pharmacists reviewing orders.
Who’s It For
Prescribing Providers
Pharmacists, Nurses, and Clinical Reviewers
Compliance and Medical Records Teams
How to Use It
When viewing a medication order from either of the following:
Patient Chart → Orders → Click on a medication order
MOR/MAR Tab → Click on a medication order
You will now see a new section at the bottom of the modal — if the order has been approved:
Approved By: Full name of the provider with prescribing credentials
Approved On: Date + time of approval (displayed in the user’s local timezone)
Digital Signature
This section only appears for orders that have completed the approval workflow.
Search Patients - Accommodate Full Name
What’s New
The Search By Name field under Search Patients now supports full name entries such as “Allison Nguyen.” Users can search using both first and last names in one input, and the system will return matching results accordingly.
Why It Matters
Previously, entering a full name cleared valid results, disrupting search workflows and increasing the risk of selecting the wrong patient — especially in high-volume facilities. This update improves search precision, reduces user friction, and ensures better patient selection accuracy.
Who’s It For
Intake, clinical, administrative, and support staff who frequently search for patients by name across facilities.
How to Use It
Go to Search Patients → Search By → Name, and enter either a full name (e.g., “Allison Nguyen”) or partial entries. Results will return based on first name AND last name match logic. Access remains restricted to patients the user is authorized to view, maintaining compliance with visibility permissions.
