How do I Use Configure Alerts?

This article explains how to set up alerts in Sunwave so staff are reminded to complete specific forms based on admission or the last form entry.

Prerequisites

  • Access to Practice Setup is required.

  • Only users with Admin permissions can create or edit alerts


Create a new alert

  1. Go to Practice Setup > Configure Alerts.

  1. In the Configure Alerts screen, select New Alert (green button, top right).

  1. Complete the alert details:

  • Rule Type

    • Since Last Form – triggers the alert based on the last time the form was entered.

    • Since Admission – triggers the alert based on the admission date.

    • Since Level of Care Change – triggers the alert when a client’s level of care changes.

    • Since Discharge – triggers the alert after discharge.

  • Applicable to Level of Care – apply the alert to a specific level of care or select All.

  • Rule Name – enter a descriptive name, for example: Complete BIO in 24 hours.

  • Form Name – choose the form this alert applies to.

  • Default Days – enter how many days after the Rule Type event the alert should trigger.

  • Insurance Provider – different alert conditions can be set for specific insurance providers or particular days.

  • Team Queue – select the team that will receive the alert.

  • Healthcare Team – select which healthcare team that will receive the alert.

  • Alert Message – write the message that appears in the Team Queue.

  1. Select Add.

  • The alert is added to the list of configured alerts.
