How do I reset 2FA with the Authenticator app?
If you change, lose, or replace your mobile device, you must contact your System Administrator to reset two-factor authentication (2FA).
This article explains how to remove old entries in Google Authenticator and how administrators can reset a user’s 2FA in Sunwave.
Remove old device entries in Google Authenticator
Android
Open the Google Authenticator app on your Android device.
Swipe the Account you want to remove to the left.
Choose Remove account.
iPhone
Open the Google Authenticator app on your iPhone.
Swipe the Account you want to remove to the left.
Tap the Red Trash icon.
Choose Remove account.
For administrators – Reset 2FA in Sunwave
Prerequisites: You must have administrator permissions to access Practice Setup and manage users.
Go to Practice Setup in the left menu.
Select Users.
Enter your administrator password when prompted.
Search for the user who needs a 2FA reset.
Select the user’s name (blue hyperlink).
In the user details panel, click Reset 2FA.
The user must sign back into Sunwave and follow the on-screen instructions to set up 2FA again.
